Public memoir turning lived experience into a compelling book for readers.

Public Memoir

Is Your Life Worth Sharing?

You don't need to be rich or famous for your story to matter to a stranger. You need something they recognise, and honest enough that they can see themselves in it.

It could be a disaster, a triumph or something inspirational, it doesn't change what people are after. What they want is the wisdom without having to bear the scars themselves. Everyone wants a look behind the curtain. Open yours fully and people will find things in there worth reading.

If you've had a life worth telling, and the nerve to tell it straight, you've got what you need.

Who Is It For

Every memoir is different, but most budding authors feel there is something in their life and experience that may resonate beyond their immediate circle.

Some have built businesses, organisations or careers that held real consequence for others. Some have navigated unusual situations, made decisions under massive pressure, or found their way through hardship and events most people can only read about.

Others simply have a story that friends or family have encouraged them to tell for years.

What matters isn't status, wealth or public profile, it's whether there is a story in there that gives people a reason to care.

Finding The Story

Writing your memoir begins with understanding. Most people know what happened in their lives. Few understand which parts of those experiences will actually matter most to a reader.

That's why the process starts with conversation where we explore the events themselves and the themes, conflicts, decisions and turning points that shaped them.

Often the most important story is not the one clients initially believe they're telling. My role is to identify the thread running through the material and build a narrative around it.

The result should feel true to your experience while giving a stranger a reason to keep reading.

Publication And Audience

Some memoirs are written purely for personal satisfaction. Others are intended for general publication. Both are valid starting points.

What matters is that we know the intended audience at the start as this helps us determine the structure, tone and scope from the outset.

Whether your ambition is to produce a professionally written public memoir or one for only family and friends, the objective is the same. To create a book that people genuinely want to read.

Getting Started

If you're considering writing a memoir, the best place to start is with a conversation. Most people have far more questions rather than answers at the start.

Part of the process is understanding whether the material is better suited to a private record, a public memoir or something else entirely.
